About this category
The Director of the Year Award recognises a director, in any function and any sector, whose leadership this year delivered results the organisation can point to.
It is for the person who sets direction, builds the team to deliver it and takes responsibility for the outcome.
Eligibility
Open to directors and heads of department in every sector, based in or serving the region. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.
Judging criteria
Entries are judged on strategic leadership, results delivered, team development and the director's wider contribution to the organisation.

- Strategy set and how it was delivered
- Leadership of people
- Influence across the organisation

- Performance against targets
- Growth or savings delivered
- Team retention and progression
